TradingView Setup Guide
Configure your TradingView workspace for optimal ODR strategy execution. This guide covers chart settings, indicators, and layout recommendations.

Chart Settings
Symbol
SPY (AMEX)
Timeframe
1-minute chart (primary)
Optional: 5-minute for context
Chart Type
Candlestick (Hollow candles optional)
Extended Hours
Enable "Extended trading hours" in chart settings
Required Indicators
VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price)
Built-in indicator. Settings: Session VWAP, anchor to session start.
Opening Range (6:30-6:35 AM)
Draw horizontal lines at the high and low of the first 5 minutes. Use "Ray" tool for extending lines.
Previous Day Close
Add horizontal line at yesterday's closing price for trend filter.
Premarket VWAP (Optional)
For Safer Mode trend filter. Use anchored VWAP from premarket start.
Visual Recommendations
Color Scheme
- • VWAP: Purple or Blue
- • Opening Range High: Green dashed
- • Opening Range Low: Red dashed
- • Previous Close: Yellow or Orange
Chart Background
Dark theme recommended for reduced eye strain during early morning trading.
Remove Clutter
Hide unnecessary indicators. Keep the chart clean for quick decision making.
Time & Alerts Setup
Timezone
Set TradingView to Pacific Time (PT) or your local timezone. Remember: Market opens 6:30 AM PT.
Recommended Alerts
- • 6:28 AM: "Prepare for open"
- • 6:35 AM: "Opening Range complete"
- • 6:48 AM: "Time stop warning"
- • 6:53 AM: "Hard exit deadline"

Use TradingView's built-in alert system or set phone alarms as backup.
